V České republice stále chybí celá řada překladů významných filosofických, politologických a sociologických prací. Totéž se týká i komentářů, odborných studií a recenzí knih. Klademe si za cíl blíže seznamovat nejenom s dílem Erica Voegelina, ale také s texty ostatních badatelů, kteří sdílejí podobné principy, či otevřeně s Voegelinovým dílem polemizují. Silný vliv je patrný zvláště v USA a v Německu, z iniciativy Voegelinových žáků a jejich následovníků postupně vychází rozsáhlé dílo, pořádají se konference a současně s tím vznikaj í i nová akademická společenství, jejichž aktivity náš portál sleduje. Chceme kromě těchto prací překládat z angličtiny a němčiny také současné autory, kteří zasazují díla klasiků do kontextu současné doby.
Jsme v kontaktu s významnými institucemi spravujícími Voegelinův odkaz i s celou řadou badatelů, kteří jeho dílo komentují. Staňte se i Vy součástí mezinárodního společenství, představte na stránkách Voegelin Principles svoji práci, své knihy, přednášky, překládejte a tlumočte je širšímu okruhu čtenářů po celém světě.
Jako nevýdělečná organizace jsme prozatím spoléhali pouze na vlastní zdroje, ale rozsah práce je natolik obsáhlý, že se do budoucna bez finančních darů neobejdeme. The Czech Republic is still lacking as to a great many translations of influential works on philosophy, political studies and social studies. The same goes for commentaries, topical studies and book reviews. Our scope is to introduce not only the work of Eric Voegelin but also the writings of other authors, who share similar principles or who openly argue with Voegelin’s ideas. His strong influence is clear mainly in the USA and Germany: Voegelin’s disciples and their followers have put an effort into gradual publication of his extensive works and organizing conferences. Along with that, many new academic fellowships have come into existence, whose activities our website follows. Apart from these works, we want to translate English and German writings by contemporary authors, who put classical works into today’s context.
We are in touch with important institutions keeping Voegelin’s legacy alive and a great many scholars who publish commentaries on his work.You can also become a part of the international fellowship. As a non-profit organization, we have relied on our own sources so far, yet the volume of the work is so extensive that we cannot go on without financial donations. In der Tschechischen Republik fehlt immer noch eine ganze Reihe bedeutender philosophischer, politologischer und soziologischer Arbeiten, die noch auf ihre Übersetzung warten. Dasselbe gilt auch für Kommentare, Fachstudien und Buchrezensionen. Unser Ziel ist es, die interessierte Leserschaft nicht nur mit dem Werk Eric Voegelins, sondern auch mit Texten anderer Forscher bekannt zu machen, die ähnliche Prinzipien teilen oder offen mit Voegelins Werk polemisieren. Ein starker Einfluss ist insbesondere in den USA und in Deutschland zu bemerken. Aus einer Initiative der Schüler Voegelins und ihrer Nachfolger wird nach und nach ein umfangreiches Werk publiziert, Konferenzen finden statt und gleichzeitig entstehen auch neue akademische Gemeinschaften, deren Aktivitäten wir in unserem Portal mitverfolgen. Neben diesen Arbeiten wollen wir aus dem Englischen und Deutschen auch Autoren übersetzen, die Werke der Klassiker in den Kontext der Gegenwart stellen.
Wir stehen in Kontakt mit bedeutenden Institutionen, die das Voeglinsche Vermächtnis verwalten, sowie mit einer Reihe von Forschern, die sein Werk kommentieren. Werden auch Sie zu einem Bestandteil der internationalen Gemeinschaft, stellen Sie auf der Website Voegelin Principles Ihre Arbeit, Ihre Bücher und Vorträge vor, übersetzen und vermitteln Sie sie einem breiteren Leserkreis auf der ganzen Welt.
Als gemeinnützige Organisation konnte wir uns bislang nur auf unsere eigenen Mittel verlassen, doch ist der Umfang der Arbeit so umfangreich, dass wir in Zukunft nicht ohne finanzielle Spenden auskommen werden.
